Canal Bandit - A Day Of Fun For All Ages

It was a fabulous Gold Coast day the sun was shining and with little effort my children convinced me to get our inflatable boat out on the water.

We took our Gemini Canal Bandit down to the water and my seven year old took first go driving and thinking my weight would slow things down a bit I decided to be ballast in the front. Our Gemini is powered by a Mercury 6hp so imagine my shock when we took off like a rocket with instantaneous acceleration and complete safety. My Son was thrilled of course.

I must say I enjoyed mucking around and had great fun. My son shouting and obviously enjoying the Canal Bandit was good to see. For a Dad it was a wonderful bonding lesson. I was booted off the Bandit by my daughter of- years who proceeded to buzz around with my son, both unable to control their laughter.

I stood on the shore watching proudly at them having the time of their lives going around and around, jumping the wakes of other boats and safely motoring around. The time came to get them in and with bleary eyes and tousled hair they both looked at me and flat out refused. It was only when the petrol ran out they finally agreed to call it a day.

Our Canal Bandit the catalyst of our family fun. What a fabulous boat, small and compact and easy to store in the garage. It's not expensive and it wholesome family fun, with our children outside in the fresh air and sunshine. Its worth is in the hours of family fun and skills it teaches my children.
